Blood Rock

    Thank you very much. I’m glad you enjoyed viewing my work.

    As for how I created this piece . . . First I spread molding paste on my canvas. I then created texture with plastic tools (triangular teeth) used by people who install tiles. After that dried I painted bright red acrylic over the molding paste. Letting that dry, I then painted the surface with a coat of gloss acrylic. Next I brushed on a coat of a darker red acrylic. Before the paint totally dried, I wiped away some of the paint in order to make the crevasses more dramatic. Lastly I added one more layer of gloss acrylic. All of the “rock” paintings were created using this method.
